Accommodation
We encourage you not to delay booking your accommodation, as July is a very popular time of year for visitors to Darwin.
A limited number of rooms have been reserved on behalf of symposium delegates at a number of hotels in Darwin. Accommodation is subject to availability and will be allocated when a booking is received. To secure the symposium accommodation rates, bookings should be made online as part of the registration process. The booking deadline is Thursday 13 June 2024.
Please notify your requests for changes or cancellation by email directly to the symposium secretariat. Each hotel has its own cancellation policy from 30 days prior to arrival ranging from one night cancellation fee to 100% cancellation fee depending on the date of cancellation. Please ensure you understand the policy for the hotel you are booking.
Please indicate your estimated time of arrival during the booking process. If you wish to guarantee your room is ready before the hotel check-in time it is recommended that you book and pay for the room for the evening prior to your arrival. Failure to advise your arrival time if arriving after 18:00 may mean that your room will be released.
If you wish to extend your stay prior to or following the symposium, please specify your requirements in the additional nights required field during the booking process. Availability and rates will be checked with the hotel before your reservations is fully confirmed.
Please note that payment of accommodation is not taken at time of registration, however a credit card is required at the time of booking to secure your room with the hotel. If you won’t have the credit card at check in time because it is your workplace card and it is not in your name, you will need to complete a credit card authorisation form. This form and instructions will be sent to you 30 days prior to check in. From 30 days prior to arrival, hotels will charge this credit card for all your accommodation charges. Please ensure you understand each hotel’s payment policy (outlined below).
